Nerja, Spain

I flew to Manchester, UK, but immediately got swept off to Nerja, Spain, by my host, Sue.   Nerja is in Andalucia and is about 50 km from Malaga.  It's a lovely Spanish town that hasn't been spoilt by tourism.  I loved Nerja, as avacadoes grow on trees in people's gardens!  Here is a map of Andalucia and here is an article on its history.  I loved my time in Spain and can't wait for Sue to show me Manchester next.

This is a photo of me with my new hostess Sue.  Behind us is a very old steep bridge.

One day, we went on a hike in the Sierra Almijara mountains. We walked along the river bed. Here I am cooling my paws as it was very hot!
I made lots of friends in Nerja including my equine amigo Pablo.
The iguanas Pinky and Perky were glad to make friends with me, too.  They said I was the first tourist rat they'd met.  Pinky and Perky spend all day at the beach in the sun.  That'd be too hot for me!  Muy caliente!
I was very busy keeping Spain safe from pirates.
It was so hot that when we reached the village of Maro, Sue and Mark stopped for a refreshing beer. Sue told me that beer was bad for rats, but I had some anyway.  Ah, cerveza maravilloso!
Oops!  I soon found out why beer is bad for you.
We visited some caves near Nerja.  It's very dark in a cave!
I was very impressed by the caves; maybe another host in the future will be able to take me to another one.  I had no idea the world below our feet could be so interesting!
